- 손자병법에 나타난 정보의 중요성에 근거한 이순신의 정보戰 수행에 대한 연구 -
지금까지 이순신에 대한 연구는 대부분 그의 군사적 천재성이나 리더십, 난중일기 등을 집필한 기록정신 등에 초점을 맞추어 왔다. 여기서는 이러한 선행논문들과 달리, 손자병법이 정보의 중요성 에 대해 어떻게 가르치고 있으며 이순신이 이 원리에 근거하여 어떻게 정보전을 수행, 연전연승할 수 있었는지를 연구하였다. 1592년 4월 일본이 조선을 침략할 때 조선은 국가 차원의 전쟁 대비가 극히 부실했으며 특히 적에 대한 정보가 없었다. 그 결과, 조선은 개전초기 불과 2주 만에 도성(都 城)을 적에게 내어 주고 도망가기 바빴다. 또한, 일본은 침략을 준비하는 과정에서 조선에 대한 정보 를 수집했지만 조선 수군 특히 이순신에 대한 정보가 전혀 없었다. 따라서 일본의 최초 계획이었던 ‘수륙병진전략’은 좌절되고 토요토미 히데요시[豐臣秀吉]의 대륙정복 야욕도 실패하고 말았다. 이 사 례들에서 알 수 있듯 정보가 없으면 뜻밖의 낭패를 겪고 반드시 패배하게 된다. 손자병법은 2천 7백여 년 전 고대에 집필되었으나 인류역사상 최고의 병법서이며 역사적으로 군사 분야뿐만 아니라 정치, 경영, 스포츠 등 다양한 분야에서 그 교훈들이 적용되고 있다. 이와 같이 여러 분야의 리더들이 이 병법서를 통해 특별한 영감을 얻고 전략·전술로 활용하여 큰 성공을 얻고 있다. 물론, 이순신에게도 손자병법은 필독서였으며 그 증거는 그가 지휘했던 수많은 해전 사례와 그의 일 기장 ‘난중일기’ 및 전황 보고서 ‘임진장초’ 등에 잘 나타나 있다. 이 병법서의 기초는 정보의 중요성 이라고 할 수 있는데 이순신은 이 책의 가르침에 따라 정보전에 주력, 적과 싸울 때 마다 이길 수 있 었다. 현재 우리나라도 미·일·중·러 등 강대국에 둘러싸인 지정학적 특성이외 북한 핵문제, 코로나19 바이러스, 계층갈등, 환경오염 등 각종 복잡한 국가, 사회적인 문제들에 봉착해 있다. 따라서 우리도 이순신의 손자병법에 근거한 정보를 중시하는 리더십을 더욱 깊이 연구하고 벤치마킹하여 우리나라 와 사회가 봉착해 있는 각종 난제들을 슬기롭게 풀어 나갈 수 있는 지혜를 얻어야 하겠다.
A study on Admiral Lee Sun-Sin’s Information Warfare Based on the Importance of Information in the Art of War
Until now, most of the research on Admiral Lee has been centered on his military genius and leadership. Here, unlike these previous studies, how the Art of War teaches the importance of information, and how Admiral Lee was able to perform information warfares and succeed in succession based on this principle. In fact, accurate information serves as the eyes and ears of individuals or organizations, and a nation or military without information is bound to be defeated. When Japan invaded Chosun in April 1592, Chosun was extremely poorly prepared for war at the national level, and in particular, there was no information about the enemy. This was the result of the capital being occupied 20 days after the Japanese army landed in Busan. In addition, Japan spied on us in preparation for the invasion, but there was no information about the Chosun Naval Forces, especially Admiral Lee. Therefore, Japan's first plan, the ambition to conquer the continent through the amphibious strategy, also failed. The Art of War, written 2500 years ago, is the best military tactics book in human history, regardless of East and West. It has been adopted as a compulsory subject at the U.S. Military Academy, and in modern times, the lessons are applied not only in the military field, but also in various fields such as politics, management, and sports. As such, leaders in various fields are gaining great success by being inspired by this book and using it as a strategy and tactic. This book was a must-read book in China's "Cao Cao" and "Mao Zedong", the famous Vietnamese General who defeated France and the United States "Vo Nguyen Giap", "Napoleon" and "Bill Gates". Of course, for Admiral Lee as well, The Art of War was a must-read, and the evidence is well shown in numerous cases of naval battles he commanded, his diary,“Nanjung Diary,” and the official war report“Imjin Jangcho.” This book is particularly important for the importance of information. Based on the importance of the information presented in this book, Admiral Lee was able to save the country by performing information warfares and winning every fight against the Japanese enemy. Currently, Korea is also facing various complex problems such as North Korea's nuclear issue, covid 19 virus, class conflict, and environmental pollution, in addition to the peculiarity of its geopolitical location surrounded by powers such as the US, Japan, China, and Russia. Therefore, we must study and benchmark Admiral Lee's information-oriented leadership more deeply to gain the wisdom to wisely solve the various challenges facing our country and society.
