- 데이트폭력 피해자의 자구노력에 관한 연구 : 신체피해를 중심으로 -
이 연구의 목적은 데이트폭력 피해자들이 취하는 다양한 대응과 자구노력을 분석하는데 있다. 데 이트폭력 관련 선행연구들은 발생실태와 가해자 특성 등에 주목하여 피해자의 대응이나 회복을 위 한 자구노력은 거의 다루지 않았으며, 경찰신고로 대표되는 공식적인 형사사법기관을 통한 대응을 거의 유일한 피해자의 선택으로 이해해왔다는 한계가 있다. 데이트폭력의 경우에는 가·피해자의 친 밀한 관계성으로 인해 경찰신고 등 공식적인 대응은 피해자들에게 큰 부담으로 작용할 가능성이 있 다. 이를 인식하여 이 연구에서는 경찰신고를 포함하여 보다 다양한 데이트폭력 피해자 대응을 포괄 적으로 살펴보고자 하였다. ‘여성대상 폭력에 대한 연구(홍영오·연성진·주승희, 2016)’의 설문조사를 활용했다. 여성 응답자 2,000명 가운데 데이트폭력 피해경험이 있는 응답자만을 분석대상으로 하여, 신체폭력 피해자 387명과 성폭력 피해자 763명의 대응과 자구노력의 유형을 분석하였다. 잠재계층분 석 결과, 데이트폭력 피해자들은 무대응하는 비율이 가장 높았으나, 동시에 다양한 방식으로 대응 및 구조요청행위를 하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 신체피해와 성폭력 피해자의 구분되는 대응행동의 계층이 있음을 확인하였다. 두 피해유형 모두에서 무대응하는 계층이 가장 많은 점은 같았으나, 데 이트 성폭력 피해자의 경우에는 무대응의 유형이 용서나 가해자 기분 맞춰주기 등을 함께 선택하는 유형 등으로 세분화되어 존재한다는 것을 확인하였다. 피해자 대응 및 자구노력의 잠재계층 사이에 차이가 있는지도 비교하였는데, 피해 당시 본인과 가해자의 음주 여부, 그리고 데이트폭력 허용도가 성폭력 피해자의 대응행동 계층에서 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났다.
A Study on the Help-seeking behaviors among Victims of Dating Violence : Focusing on Physical victimization
This study attempted to analyze the various responses and reactions taken by victims of dating violence. Previous studies on dating violence heavily focus on the description of victims’ suffering and perpetrators’ characteristics. In addition, victims’ reporting to the criminal justice agencies including police department has been understood as the only available choice for victims. Due to the intimate relationship between victim and offender in dating violence, victims hesitate to utilize formal responses such as police reports. The current study attempted to examine more diverse responses from victims of dating violence. Among the 2,000 female respondents to the survey of 'Study on Violence against Women(Hong et al., 2016), respondents who had experienced dating violence were analyzed. A total of 387 victims of physical assaults and 763 victims of sexual violence were analyzed. To investigate patterns of victims’ responses, we conducted a latent class analysis using eight victim-related responses, including police report, informal help-seeking, no response, and asking for apology, and a potential class analysis was conducted. Furthermore, we investigated differences alcohol use of both victim and offender and the acceptance of dating violence across the latent classes identified in our study. We identified four latent classes of victims’ response in physical assaults and five latent classes of those in sexual dating violence. Differences and similarities are found between victims reactions against physical assaults and sexual violence.
